WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?

Download the OC Bus app to your mobile smartphone. To create your account, you must use the email you used to register for your classes. Your pass will appear in the “My Ticket” section. WHAT IF I DON’T OWN A SMARTPHONE OR A TABLET/iPAD TO DOWNLOAD THE BUS APP, BUT I NEED TO RIDE THE BUS?

For students who do not have access to a mobile smartphone, please contact Student Life and Leadership at (714) 992-7095 or email studentlife@fullcoll.edu to request a physical bus pass.

WHO PAYS FOR IT?

Starting with the Fall 2019 semester, the first year of this 3-year pilot program was funded by the Low Carbon Transit Operations Program (LCTOP), a part of the Cap-and-Trade Program and the Mobile Source Air Pollution Review Committee (MSRC).

WHY AM I CHARGED FOR THIS FEE AFTER THE SEMESTER STARTED?

Full-time students will see a $5.75 transportation fee and part-time students will see a $5.00 transportation fee posted to MyGateway on September 8, 2020. Students will have until October 2, 2020 to pay for this fee before a hold is placed on the student’s record. During the second and third years (Fall 2020 to Summer 2022), fees approved by Fullerton College students in April 2019 will pay for the program.

HOW MUCH IS THE FEE?

Full-time students will pay $5.75 and part-time students will pay $5.00 for the entire semester. If a student were to pay market value for an OCTA bus pass, it would cost $46 per month and $184 for a semester.

WHY ARE STUDENTS PAYING FOR THIS MANDATORY TRANSPORTATION FEE?

In the spring of 2019, Associated Students supported a proposed partnership with OCTA to implement the Fullerton College Pass Program. With the support of Associated Students, a referendum was placed on the ballot that spring for students to vote on a three-year bus pass program. The first year (2019-20) would be free, but subsequent years (2020-21 and 2021-22) would be paid for by all part-time and full-time students as a mandatory fee each fall and spring semester. The students-at-large overwhelmingly passed this referendum and voted “YES” for the Fullerton College Pass Program.
